2026 APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Each year Solano County Farm Bureau Ag Education Foundation awards scholarships to deserving students with a desire to begin a career in the agricultural industry. Scholarships are open to all Solano County high school students that plan to enroll as a full-time student at a community college or university, and/or undergraduate students attending an accredited trade school, college or university (including out of state), and majoring in an agricultural related field so long as they are a resident of Solano County.

This year, the Solano County Farm Bureau Ag Education Foundation will be offering multiple scholarships ranging from $250 to $2,500.

Scholarship applicants are evaluated on their scholastic achievements, career goals, leadership skills, extracurricular activies, Statement of Purpose, committment to study agriculture, and the completeness and quality of their application. Applicants will be notified in May on the status of their application.

Scholarship recipients will be honored and receive their certificate awards at the SCFB Annual Summer Fundraiser held in July! Scholarships will be sent to the recipient’s school of record.

Students who plan to pursue a career in an agricultural related field are encouraged to submit their application no later than April 18, 2026, by 5:00PM. Applications may be submitted electronically or by mail:

Eligibility:

A. Student must live or hometown is in Solano County.
B. Student must reside in and either be enrolled in or be an alumni of a Solano County public or private High School and enrolled in any community college or university.
C. Student should have an average to above-average academic record; 2.0 or above cumulative GPA.
D. Students must be pursuing career and educational opportunities in agriculture or a related field of study.

Statement of Purpose – 1 page limit

  • Discuss how agriculture has impacted your life.
  • This should highlight who you are in agriculture, what has influenced you, and where do you see your future in the agriculture industry?

Completed application

Two Letters of Recommendation which must include:

  • Name of applicant
  • Comments on applicant's characters and abilities
  • Opinion on applicant's ability to profit from a college education
  • Name, phont number, and occupation of individual writing letter
  • Letters must be signed within the last 3 months
  • 1 of the 2 letters must be from a teacher
  • Letters from parents, relative, or fellow student will not be considered

California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation

The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation was organized to give aid to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. The scholarships are awarded annually based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills, and a commitment to study agriculture.

Who is Eligible?
An undergraduate student, who is a Farm Bureau Collegiate Member, entering or attending a four-year accredited college or university in California and pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. Students entering or attending a junior college are not eligible for the scholarship. Students must be a resident of the State of California.

California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation

In 2023, CCA awarded over $49,000 in scholarships to students studying agriculture. Scholarship amounts and quantities vary year to year and recipients of the CCA scholarship program can re-apply the following year.
 
Who is Eligible?
Applicant must be a young, regular or feeder member of the California Cattlemen’s Association. Applicant must be a current undergraduate, master, school of law or veterinary student attending or enrolled in a junior college, four-year college, university or law school (high school students are not eligible). Applicant must be studying a major consistent with career goals and should be planning a career associated with the beef cattle industry.

Future Farmers of America Scholarships

Whether you are pursuing a trade school, vocational certificate or a two-year or four-year degree, don’t miss your chance to apply for a National FFA Scholarship to help with your next steps in education. If you are a senior FFA member in high school or FFA Alumni in college, just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities totaling nearly $2.5 million.
 
Who is Eligible?
FFA members are eligible to receive scholarships while they are graduating high school seniors or undergraduates. FFA scholarships support two-year or four-year degrees and include vocational certification and specialized training programs.
